During the mission to Djibouti, which took place from October 12 to 20, we were very happy to see 38 patients who had already been operated on as part of their medical follow-up.
Among them Meido, Raga and Shamsadine who are doing wonderfully!
We have developed the "Smart Projects" program, which is part of our goal to constantly improve the child's care pathway. With this program, we are seeking to make progress in diagnosis using the latest Medtech innovations. The ultimate goal is to improve the management of complex heart diseases.
Since March 2020, we have been building a training program in pediatric cardiology for doctors around the world, in the form of an e-learning platform. This program is part of our commitment to improve the quality of care for children by enabling foreign doctors to receive free training in this specialty.
Remember, from 26 March to 3 April, a team from Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque went on a mission to Yaoundé, Cameroon. Each day, the team met two types of patients in the consultation room: children waiting for a diagnosis, and others, already operated on, as part of their follow-up. Today, we give you news about 4 of them!
At Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, we carry out an average of 5 missions abroad per year, in the countries of origin of the children we care for. Due to the pandemic and the closure of borders, no mission could be carried out since the intervention of a team in Côte d'Ivoire at the end of 2019. And yet, the files of children with heart disease continue to arrive. After more than two years of waiting, we were finally able to send a team to Cameroon, a country that urgently needed to be visited.
