We have developed the "Smart Projects" program, which is part of our goal to constantly improve the child's care pathway. With this program, we are seeking to make progress in diagnosis using the latest Medtech innovations. The ultimate goal is to improve the management of complex heart diseases.
Since March 2020, we have been building a training program in pediatric cardiology for doctors around the world, in the form of an e-learning platform. This program is part of our commitment to improve the quality of care for children by enabling foreign doctors to receive free training in this specialty.
The "5/5 Training" is a mobile-learning application designed to train the world's doctors in cardiopediatrics. Launched in March 2020 by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, the application is enjoying growing success and has just been awarded a prize at the Mobile Learning Awards 2021 organised by Teach on Mars.
The "5/5 Training" of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque is an application that allows all doctors (cardiologists, paediatricians, general practitioners, etc.) throughout the world to receive free training in cardiopediatrics to enable better management of children with heart disease. Given the success of the application, and in the continuity of the Global Program and the Expert Program, we are launching the Advanced Program at the beginning of this year.
In the context of the current health crisis, we are encountering difficulties in getting children waiting for heart surgery to come to France: no health visa, no authorization, no flight... And yet the files are pouring in! We currently have 150 medical files of children in need of surgery. In France, our teams are mobilized and ready to welcome them as soon as the borders reopen. In the meantime, we can't sit back and that's why we are launching the "ACT - Covid-19" programme.
In order to receive the medical files of children awaiting surgery and to ensure the medical follow-up of those already operated on, we are very happy to be able to count on the precious help of many doctors practicing in the countries where the children come from.
Among them is Emmeline Lerebours, a pediatrician in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, with whom we have been collaborating for almost 10 years. In this article, she talks about the importance of her role in the great chain of solidarity constituted by Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.
Since the beginning of June, the teams Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque are back in the Association. Around Professor Francine Leca, they are mobilizing on a daily basis to prepare the care of children who could not come to France for surgery following the health crisis.
In this 5th week of confinement, the whole team Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque remains mobilized for the cardiac children of the world and prepares the "after".
This week, Pr Francine Leca gives you a video update on the children currently in the territory and the current situation.
